Coaster To Coaster

There are nice vintage beer coasters to view and buy. There are also contemporary coasters. But the old ones are the best! This site has other beer related items as well.

Once Upon A Time Cocaine & Heroin Were Legal

The Cocaine and other illegal drugs were legal before the prohibition era. They were widely common as ingredients in medications during the late 19th century to the mid 20th century. Even Coca Cola used them. Bayer Pharmaceutical used heroin with their aspirin. The Bayer company actually developed heroin commercially for other type of medications. A "Mrs. Winslow's Soothing Syrup" had 65 mg of morphine and was given to small children. Wow! It's crazy that these substances were once legal. There is even a picture of a Pan American World Airways flight service menu from the 50's listed the Benzedrine Inhalers (racemic amphetamine) for comfort.

Retro-Petro

There is a cool collection of petrol and gas station items. This is not in english. I believe it's Dutch (please correct me if I'm wrong), but there really hardly any information anyway. Just mostly pictures of memorabilia.

Fading Murals

The "Fading Ad Blog by Frank H. Jump" features images of mural ads and signage taken by Frank H. Jump, who is an artist and a teacher. It's also about "cross-curricular culture".

There are all type of ads and signages pictured here about variety of subjects. Personally, I've always found it interesting to see those "antique" names on brick buildings. Makes you wonder what they originally looked like, when they were "new" some decades ago. A different era. It's intriguing to me. Jump's photography also include non-ad images. Besides his photography, there are contributions from other photographers.

I'd like to note that I have not seen every single picture, but I did see a freaky picture of a bird embryo under "ectopic pregnancy" and "embryo". So be ware. It looks like an alien. Seriously... some of the other images in the embryo section disturbed me a little as well.

These Old Skis

This is cool. You can buy vintage and old ski items here. Some of the vintage items that they have are skis, boots, and poles. There is also a "vintage ski museum" section. One of my favorite items were the ski pennants which were made in the late 1950's (see image above).

Famous People With Learning Disabilites

The site lists "Famous People with Dyslexia and other Learning Disabilities and/or AD/HD". Not every famous person listed (for example, author Hans Christian Andersen). I knew of some of the names, such as Albert Einstein (which isn't exactly news), Bruce Jenner, and Whoopi Goldberg. But, I was clueless about most of the names, like Cher. The names will probably be news you too, if you aren't familiar with them. The list includes people in the following fields: art, sport, business, community, entertainment, exploration, politics, medical, music, science and literature/media.

By the way, you can find more names in Wikipedia, but I don't know how accurate their list is.

Simon's Bad Cat

Hilarious simple "Simon's Cat" cartoons drawn by Tandem's British director Simon Tofield. This is one naughty hungry cat, who'll do anything to get the attention of his owner.

Land Rover Special Projects

Another nice Land Rover site with a different style. There are bunch of pages about the Land Rover, but I liked this page the best, because it features a few unusual and rare ones. The Cinema Land Rover above is my favorite.

A Land Rover Mania

The Land Rover Madness site is about, as you probably guessed already, various Land Rovers. Some are quite rare and unusual. Prototypes are also included. Personally, I've never never knew that there are so many different types of the Land Rover, that don't even look like each other.
